I'm planning on majoring in Economics and I'm looking for advice on what I need to do to be successful. What topics should I focus on in college and what kind of job/internship positions should I apply for both during and after college?

Should I focus on just doing well in my academics and making connections, or work during the school year? And if I did work would a job or internship be better?

Does it matter where I go to college? Is it worth going to an Ivy League? I want to get a great job with opportunities for promotion, learning and earning a good living. #college #job

I'm a senior in high school and was wondering if getting experience in my field would help me find a job after I graduate from college? #jobs #internship

Hello! My name is Anna and I am a sophmore by the time summer break ends. I was wondering if I can do anything, or should do anything in particular to be able to get accepted into Harvard. I would want to be a doctor if you were wondering by the way! Any tips to get in and information about...

I have a passion for innovation. I am majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Studio Arts. I am combining the two because it is my goal to be an Industrial Designer. Mechanical Engineering is teaching me how and why things work the way they do. Studio Arts is my creative outlet and...

I have a lot of invention ideas and I am not sure how to get help. There are a lot of website that say they help people who have invention ideas but I am afraid they will steal my ideas and I will not have any legal ownership of them. #help #innovation #Mechanical #MechanicalEngineering...

I asked a similar question about what should I know for shadowing, and, well, this is very similar. Do I need to have extensive knowledge of the field that I internship for, or should I treat it as a learning experience where I go in with familiarity of the field, but still have many questions?...

I'm a rising senior, and I've always been confused about this. I would love to be a doctor (I'm debating on the type) and would like to shadow my local doctors to see which would be a better "fit" for me, but I don't want to show up naive or seem unintelligent. I don't want the doctor to quiz...

I will be attending Graduate School in either Ireland or the UK this fall, as an international student I am nervous about not feeling part of my University as much as I did when I attended an Undergraduate course in the US. Will my status as an international student make it harder to feel...

I am attending Graduate School abroad this upcoming year for a one-year Msc in Applied Behavior Analysis. There are currently many positions in the US for careers in Behavior Analysis, however my main interest is to work internationally. Since my Master's degree will be from an international...

I'm asking this because I am uncertain of the type of jobs that make a major in creative writing useful. #creative-writing #college-major #college-advice #job-search

I'm asking this question because I love to write and would adore a major in creative writing however, being a psychologist supplies a solid monetary standing. #psychology #creative-writing #college #college-major

Like many, this is my first time away from home for an extended time. I am nervous about managing my personal focus and organization skills without support. I look forward to the social aspect of going to college, but worry about managing my studies in a timely manner. I know of support...

For your areas of interest, how do you plan to manage your areas of study? I know some students with a double major and 4 minors. Is this the expectation? The new standard that we have to compete with? Or is this what works for a percentage of our peers? What combination of major & minor do...

There are a lot of things in colleges that catches my eye. For example medical interests like bring a doctor or a nurse.

Many college admissions officers and guidance counselors push students to find their passions in high school. At the ripe age of 15 or 16, students are expected to know exactly which career they would like to pursue and the impact they want to have in the world. However, many students do not...

Colleges always ask prospects for their top interests and expect them to know which field they would like to study in. Unfortunately, the majority of students have no idea what they are truly interested in or have a passion in. This being said, how can study better prepare themselves for the...

Hi, I am senior in high school and about to go off to college. I am currently enrolled in a program to become Certified Medical Assistant. I really want to be able to afford college and take some financial burden off my parents by working as a CMA part-time. Also, I will be getting exposure to...

Hi, I am currently a senior in high school who will be attending college this fall semester. I aspire to become a doctor one day. I understand that I would have to be on the pre-med track in college to be considered by medical schools. I am a little confused on my major right now. I did ask a...

I've already taken the PSAT so I have a general idea of what the SAT is going to be like but I wanted to ask what to expect from the ACT. Thanks!

When I go off to college, I'm planning on dual majoring in education and musical theatre so I was just hoping for a general idea of what that's going to be like.

I know doctors make a good amount of money but how much do they have to pay via taxes, college, and other fees if there are any? Also, since there are many fields in medicine, is it possible to become a doctor in two professions at once? Like being a psychiatrist and a dermatologist? #medicine...

I aspire to be a dermatologist and I wonder how their life is outside of work. Like do they have a lot of free time if any and what are their typical hours? Also, do they always work at a hospital or can they have their own business? #medicine #business #dermatologist

I'm thinking about majoring in Economics, but I have very little interest in going into a career related to Wall Street, the stock market, etc, or continuing on to business school. I'm most interested in economics research in behavioral economics, and some in policy. To what extent would a...

I've recently gotten accepted to a good college, but with admission deferred to spring semester. Once I get in, I'll be student just like any students, but I was wondering if there were any academic or social problems with not entering in the fall with most admitted freshman. Does anyone have...

I am considering pursuing fashion journalism, but I don't know what the lifestyle of a journalist is. Is it mostly a desk job or would there be more walking around?

I have many interests, and I am still somewhat undecided. I want to keep my options open, but I don't know if I would be able to pursue more than one interest in college.
Thank you.

I’m currently in the 11th grade and I’m unsure about what route I want to take as far as majors. I’ve been thinking about studying psychology but i’m not sure if I look at psychology as something that I’m passionate about or just as a really interesting topic. I don’t know if it something I...

I am asking this because I know it is very hard for an African-American woman to major in mathematics and work in this field. In addition, I am curious about how these mathematicians overcome the obstacles that they face.
